Customize Your References

  • Remember that your eligibility is raised up a notch every time you back your own information by a professional reference. You can refer to your previous supervisors or even your teachers to provide credible references for you. To add a reference to your profile: 

    1. Visit our website and sign in to your account 

    2. Click I Am a Job Seeker and feed your password and relevant email address. 

    3. Choose ‘Me’ on the dashboard and then select ‘references’ or the Add References statement in case it is displayed on your page. 

    4. You will then be required to feed the email address of the person to whom you are making the request for reference submission. Once the address is fed click on ‘Continue’. 

     

    Our site will then process this request to the relevant person. However, the request will be accompanied by the ‘accept’ or ‘decline’ option. If they choose to accept your request and send a reference you will be able to approve or disapprove it before it is appended to your profile. 

     

    Note: email address must always contain lowercased characters. Letters in the uppercase will render the email invalid on our site. 

  • You could either opt to request from a professional reference either from your personal settings or via your job seeker home page: 

    1. Visit our website and sign in to your account 

    2. Click I Am a Job Seeker and feed your password and relevant email address. 

    3. Choose ‘Me’ on the dashboard and then select ‘references’ or the Add References statement in case it is displayed on your page. 

    4. Feed the email address belonging to your reference in the recipient’s email section and click ‘continue’ to process this request to your reference. 

    5. Stay for a confirmation regarding your request being processed. 

     

    Upon completion of the last step, you may be assured that your request for a professional reference has been processed to the relevant person. Along with the request, the recipient will also receive a link which will direct them to the page where they can give their reference for the employers to view.
  • If you feed an email address with even a single letter in Uppercase then the address will be considered invalid and you will not be able to process your request. Always ensure that you are feeding the right address or addresses and the letters are in the lowercase.

    2. Click I Am a Job Seeker and feed your password and relevant email address. 

    3. Choose ‘Me’ on the dashboard and then select ‘references’ or the Add References statement in case it is displayed on your page. 

    4. Feed the email address of the recipient and click on the Request Reference option.

    3. Choose ‘Me’ on the dashboard and then select ‘references’ or the Add References statement in case it is displayed on your page. 

    4. As you scroll down you will be able to view every professional reference posted on that page. 

  • Chibbz allows its users to cancel a request for submitting a professional reference by navigating to your settings page and then carrying out the following steps: 

    1. Visit our website and sign in to your account 

    2. Click I Am a Job Seeker and feed your password and relevant email address. 

    3. Choose ‘Me’ on the dashboard and then select ‘references’ or the Add References statement in case it is displayed on your page. 

    4. Choose the Cancel Request option available on the right of the reference’s email 

    5. You will then have to confirm cancellation by selecting the ’Yes, Cancel It’ option. 

     

    Upon completing the last step, the professional reference request will be cancelled. 

  • Updating or editing an already sent reference will require you to personally contact the recipient of your information as our site does not entertain this facility. When you append a reference to your resume and it is processed to the relevant employer, there is no way to retrieve it. It will be at the disposal of your employer to be reviewed and you can send a new one only in case he/she chooses to reject it and ask for another, or in case you personally ask your recruiter to reject the current reference in favour of a new one and they comply.
